Artistic Intention
February 2013
The aim of this page is to discuss the artistic intention for my film posters.
I will do this by explaining my artistic intention through my chosen genre conventions and what I hope to present towards the audience.
I will be producing two film posters. One poster will be aimed at a national audience and the other, international.
For the national poster, I want to convey my chosen genre - poetic realism - as the main attraction. I want to combine the ideas of memory and nature in a single image as away of illustrating the genre.
Then for the international poster, I want to portray the character as an area of attraction. Poetic realism is not a widely known genre, and for that reason, I want the international poster to focus more on the character still, however, giving a sense of an enigma.
I want the content of the posters to be symmetrical - with exceptions of distribution - and the image itself to be what distinguishes them.
